Kids’ Programs for Casual Dining Restaurants

In traditional casual dining restaurants, kids’ meal entertainment typically involves crayon-based activities that keep kids entertained and engaged from the time they are seated at a table until the food arrives. Parents tell us they prefer these types of screen-free entertainment at the dining table over tablets and phones.

We at C3 are experts at creating and producing the following core components of kids’ programs for casual dining brands:

Branded Restaurant Activity Menus: For the national brands we work with, we create brand-specific content that is used to develop custom activity books, placemats and kids’ activity menus. We print these menus on special paper stock that is optimized for coloring.

Custom Restaurant Crayons: We provide restaurants with custom crayons in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit specific brand needs. In addition to the traditional round format, some restaurant crayons are triangle or hexagon shaped to prevent table roll-off. Crayons are typically packaged in cello-packs or offered in bulk.

Restaurant Kids’ Cups: The final component of most casual dining kids’ meals is a kids’ cup and lid. A tight-sealing lid helps prevent spills at the table, and kid-specific cup designs can also include entertainment and activities. Flexible or bendy straws work best for kids, as the bend in the straw generally allows the cup to stay level on the tabletop.

The Casual Dining Trifecta: These three components—a kids’ menu, crayons and a kids’ cup—are fundamental components for casual dining brands and are expected by more than 75% of parents.
